Principal's Message

Greetings to our wonderful Tincher Community!

After having worked in our district for the past 36 years, it is truly both a privilege and a pleasure to serve as principal for Tincher Preparatory School. We are a diverse community of 800 students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th Grade, situated on a large campus just south of El Dorado Park and within walking distance of CSULB.

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to collaborative planning and professional development, in order to continuously learn how to best serve the educational needs of our students.  We work together to provide an equitable environment for all students, with accessible yet rigorous curriculum and engaging instruction with differentiated support, social/emotional learning, and inspiring enrichment.  Our goal is to prepare our Tincher students to be college and career ready so that all have the opportunity to lead and succeed. 

We have a hardworking PTA at Tincher, with families who provide fun, enriching events that make each school year memorable for all students.  We are also grateful for the support of our many volunteers and greater Long Beach community stakeholders who provide so many special learning opportunities for our students. 

At Tincher we strive for continuous improvement to maximize the growth and achievement of every child. Whether it’s in the classroom, at an assembly, on the sports field, or each day over the loudspeaker - together we roar:  Go Tigers!!
